Jurisdictional aspects in carriage by air

The paper discusses general principles of jurisdiction and complexities of issue of jurisdiction in cases related to transport by air of passengers and goods. Montreal Convention 1999 has introduced ‘fifth jurisdiction’ to provide for complainant a choice to initiate legal proceedings at his place. It provides solace to the complainant but raises jurisdictional issues.
