A critical legal analysis of right to information act, 2005 of India

Abstract

The RTI Act, 2005 is a master piece legislation through which the citizens are enabled to know what the government is doing for themselves. This Act pores the way for the maintenance of transparency and accountability in official works. It has proved to be a tool for the people to raise their voice against maladministration and corruption. There are certain restrictions on which information can't be disclosed i.e. privacy. This research paper critically analysis the RTI Act, It's limitations and the ways how to make it more effective.
