Juvenile delinquency and its effecton the adult justice system

Abstract

Crimes by juveniles are a harsh reality in India. In recent times juveniles were found to be involved in heinous crimes such as murder and rape. Juveniles who are considered to be childish or immature in their senses often unknowingly under peer influence or societal trends commit a crime. In India, the concept of Juvenile misconduct is kept to the violation of normal penal law of India so far as the ward of the juvenile court is concerned. This research paper explores the phenomenon of juvenile delinquency and its implications for the adult justice system.
