Environmental problems: A bane for the society

Abstract

The present article discusses the environmental pollution problem at the global level and it became a bane for the society as a whole. For the protection and improvement of the environment is an important issue which affects the life of the peoples who are living in the society throughout the globe. For the improvement of the environmental pollution the future generations has become an imperative goal for the mankind. Regarding the problem of environmental pollution various conferences.i.e, 1972 conference at Stockholm the declaration of this conference is also called Magna Carta of the environment protection, United Nations Conference on Climate Change (UNCCC) held at Nusa Dita, Bali etc. This paper also discusses the role of Judiciary related to environmental problems through the orders passed by judiciary and punish the of fenders but also to seek proper enforcement of such laws. It further deals the role of Parliament regarding the making laws towards the environmental problems,i.e., Section 49 of the water (prevention and control of pollution) act, 1974, Section 43 and 19 of the air (prevention and control of pollution) act,1981 and the environmental protection act, 1986 etc. In this way our parliament has enacted more than 200 central statutes and laws to preserve and protect natural resources, environmental and its beauty.
