Advancement in information technology through has brought in various advantages, has also caused great disadvantages resulting from cyber misdemeanors. Growing menace of cyber crimes is posing a challenge before the trade and legal system. Existing Indian legal and institutional framework is falling short to meet this challenge as it is failing the tackle all forms of cyber crimes. Though 2008 Amendment has introduced various beneficial changes into the Information Technology Act, 2000, yet they are not enough to tackle the increasingly growing menace. Lack of techno-legal experts still continues to be a major impediment in effectively combating cyber crime.
