The concept of family has always not been one and the same, though it functions as a primary social unit. It has a vital role to play in shaping up its members. The Malayans of North Malabar, too rely on family, and its function. However, the process of socialization, and enculturation happens in their families, more important, the family makes its member Malayan a master of teyyam.
