COVID-19 has been declared a pandemic (WHO 2020a). COVID?19 has caused closure of higher education campuses and forced them to initiate online teaching. Due to the increasing number of coronavirus cases in India, most colleges and universities have begun online education, in line with government's mandate of "nonstop teaching and learning,".The economically weaker section of the society has been severely affected by the closure of higher education institutions. This paper therefore identifies themultidimensional impact of the Covid-19 on the higher education system.
