Comparative study of impact of age at menarche on health of buxa tribal female of Bijnor district and urban scheduled caste girls of Lucknow district of Uttar Pradesh

Age at Menarche is not only the hallmark of puberty but also the considered as indicator of the quality of life of population. Menarche age give a description about women's health and information about menarchal age which is useful for health policymakers. In last three decades downward trend has been reported in the age of menarche. Early maturation and Late maturation has been found associated with adverse effects on health conditions. In order to fill this research gap, the present study aims to explore the age at menarche, and its trend with other parameters like the anthropometric measurement of Buxa women of Bijnor and College girls of Lucknow. This study was done on 100 females from the age group of 13 to 45 among Buxa tribals women and 100 scheduled caste girls from the age group of 13 to 22 of Lucknow and recorded their problems related to mensuration, Body mass index and risk of diseases.
