The present literature review seeks to establish the linguistic-cultural zones hypothesis which tries to explain relationships between language and culture in certain geographical areas. It incorporates the grounding of theories, qualitative and quantitative research methods, and semi-structured comparative analyses to investigate the interrelation between language, culture, and social players, values, and actions. From a socio-linguistics/ cultural anthropological perspective, the review reflects the importance of linguistic-cultural areas for shaping the relations between people and interethnic interactions. It also examines the effects of globalization on interface of language and culture and how language and culture affects sociopolitical processes. Finally, this review provides a systematic view on linguistic-cultural zones in light of emerging complications and stresses and how they define domestic and international cultural agendas. In the light of current National Education Policy 2020 wherein the Government of India is continuously focusing on revival of native languages in the education system, this kind of studies may prove to be useful in such efforts particularly in case of vanishing tribal languages and dialects.
