The prevalence of child labour in Pakistan continues to exist despite the various efforts to eliminate it. The combination of cultural practices and economic compulsions create an environment that enables the entry of children in the world of work. The presence of out of school children further exacerbates the situation of child labour. This is despite the fact that both international convections and global trade demands country to curb and eliminate child labour. However, the family decisions to send children to workfind legitimacy in cultural norms and tradition. Moreover, the recent natural disasters are increasing the vulnerabilities of families and pushing them to send their children into hazardous forms of child labour.
