Anemia is a major health problem. Anemia is a blood disorder which occurs when the level of healthy red blood cells in the body becomes low. It is especially prevalent in women. Anemia is the second most important cause of fatigue, stress and maternal death. The present study is based on blood samples and the socio-economic status obtained through schedule from 90 women's of Baiga tribe of Mandla district in Madhya Pradesh. Socio-economic status was considered by study of age, education, family, occupation and income. All the females were found anemic. The concentration varies from severe to mild. The 35.55% of Baiga women were found mild anemic, 44.44% were found moderate anemic and 20% of them were found severely anemic. Education, family, occupation and income have also leaded to this problem. Iron rich food supply and the socio-economic conditions should be upgraded to make their condition better.
