With the various forms of division happening in the world, more & more people are experiencing disconnectedness and frangmentation in life. The emegence & proliferation of religious and renewal movements, meditation, and holistic healing centers manifest a thirst for wholeness and holistic spirituality. Longing for wholeness is constitutive of human nature, it is primal and fundamental to the very essence of human existence (Winter, 1997, 61). People yearn to connect with their deepest self and with the Source of life within them & around them. The search for wholeness is an indication of people's thirst for a holistic spirituality. This paper studied the close relation of science, religion and spirituality, of how a harmonious relationship between science & religion can help respond to the search for wholeness & holistic spirituality.
This exploratory-descriptive research studies how a harmonious relation between science and religion can respond to the search for wholeness and holistic Christian Spirituality. It employs interview & review of primary sources: the Judeo Christian Tradition, the creationcentered mystics and theologians and the new scientific account of the story of the universe or the new cosmology.
Significant findings are: a dualistic world view which separates matter from the spirit, God from the world is a major hindrance in attaining wholeness and holistic spirituality as it failed to see creation in its wholeness. As science explores natture in its wholeness & provides an integral vision of creation, it can heal the dualistic world view that caused our alienation & disconnectedness in life. History of cosmology shows that the world view of each era had greatly affected people's relationship with the Creator and the natural world.
