Since time immemorial festivals are related with mankind as one of the indispensable occasions which can bring peace, prosperity and social cohesion in the society. It is always related with observances of some pristine parochial rites and rituals along with feasting, song and dances that transform the whole occasion into a joyous as well as as colourful one. Festivals are the occasions during which people from all sections of the society irrespective of hierarchical affiliations participates, abstain from grieves and grievances, which reflects symbols of unity in that respective societies. These festive occasions with unique song and dances attract people from other cultures to visit them as a part of their tourism for recreation as well as knowledge gain. The festivals also stand as one of the strongest elements to preserve one's own cultural identity. The Mopin festival of the Galos of Arunachal Pradesh is such an occasion which is observed with lots of fun and frolic and it stands as one of the most important event meant for culture tourism. In this present endeavour an attempt has been made to know about the different aspects of Mopin festival of this remote part of India's North East.
