Abstract

The Agtas in San Mariano are increasing and they are wandering around at the foot of the Sierra Madre mountains to enjoy its resources. They were wandering from the sitios that are found nearby the Sierra Madre mountains of San Mariano through mountain trecking to collect the fruits of the natural resources for their livelihood and daily subsistence. The study determined the cultural profile, cultural practices, attitudes of the Agtas towards basic literacy project, aspirations of the Agtas, and determine the problems encountered by the Agtas.

It is therefore the contention of this research to come up with the intervention that is necessary for the Indigenous peoples, the Agtas, who are now living in the six mountainous and remotest barangays of San Mariano, particularly in San Jose, Tappa, Dicamay, Disulap, and del Pilar and Andarayan-Dibuluan.
