The Social determinants of health such as poverty, low educational attainment, low level of employment, food insecurity, poor access to services and inadequate transport add to the complexity. Our religion and cultural and societal values also have an influence on the mental health of the people, especially in terms of old age people. This paper is based on observations and stories collected during my supervisory visits as well as visits of old age homes, situated in Delhi and NCR. This paper will explain and reveal the facts and reality of health status (mental and physical) of old age people here with the characteristics and factors affecting loneliness and isolations.
