Regional imbalance has been one of the major concerns before policy makers and planners. There had been a huge gap between active and vibrant regions and hinterland in terms of availability of facilities and this has resulted in unequal levels of economic and human development. Rising inequality can create economic and political problems for any country. It has serious ramification for the continuation of the reforms process in Indian economy. It is veryimportantto understand theimpact ofreformson theregional inequality in the economy. The present study in an attempt to measure the contribution of tertiary sectors to regional inequality in India and study the impact of the reforms on the services sector contribution.
