Abstract

This paper attempt to study taste sensitivity of PTC among the Panikas and Gonds of Anuppur District, Madhya Pradesh both male and female between the ages of 12–42 years from unrelated individuals. The PTC solution apparatus and chemicals used for data were prepared by technique given by Harris and Kalmus (1949) with slight modification (Seth, 1961). 0.13gms of phenylthiocarbamide were weighed in a weighing machine and dissolved in a local tap water for making stock solution. Proper care was taken to avoid test the related initials. Out of total 106, 75% are tasters and 25% are non-tasters. A population under study shows a close resemblance to the weste n India and other population of central India
