Abstract

In thehistoryof Indian artand Architecture Deogarh hasgot an important place. Deogarh is located at the western end of the Lalitpur range of hills, immediately overhanging the river Betwa, which marks a natural boundary line between the states of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. Most of the findings which were recovered from Deogarh are related with Jain religion; majority of temples and sculptures represent Jainism. Recent archaeological findings of this area have revealed that this site also has evidences of rock-cut images of Buddha and Hindu deities. Inthisresearch article I will focus on the analysis of the rock-cut images of the Hindu Deities.
