Much global rhetoric on gender equality and justice compels us to think that why at the finest levels of lived reality people still find it hard to break past the grip of uncritical acceptance of social institutions, traditions and norms and values. It is because of the reason that women in most societies still remain at the receiving end of gender discrimination. A study of gender stereotypes especially in rural areas hold a traditional setting and have strong gender based challenges to meet. However, level of sensitivity towards gender equality in the urban areas is only slightly better off than its rural counterpart. Thus, it becomes imperative to study and identify those factors which in the contemporary times still promote gender based attitude of people.
