The present paper is an outcome of rigorous field work conducted among the Jaunsarese tribe of Jaunsar-Bawar area of Uttarakhand in India. The study applying anthropological methods of fieldwork attempts to bring forward the list of wild edible plants and herbs which are still collected by the people of the tribe and consumed as food material. The study was conducted on fifteen villages comprising the population of the Khas/Khasa (the Rajputs and the Brahmins), the intermediate castes like Badai (carpenter), Sunar (goldsmith), Lohar (ironsmith), Bajgi (drummers) and the Koltas (scheduled castes) between the years of 2006–2017.
