New India Vision 2022 and socio economic status of the Tharu tribe of Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, India

Abstract

Thispaper is a study of new India Vision 2022 of the government and socio-economic condition of the Tharu tribe in current scenario. Our Hon'blePrime Minister set a deadline of 2022 on the 75th anniversary of India's independence for the transformation of the country into New India that would fulfill the dreams of the youth, women and see the income of farmers double. New India, and the Vision 2022 deadline, also found a mention in President Address to the nation on the eve of Independence Day. India Vision 2022 is a Master Plan to transform India into a developed country by 2022. The Tharu is well known scheduled tribe of Uttar Pradesh. They are still isolated from Urban Society. Bahraich district bestowed with abundant natural resources. Utilizing it to bring about socio-economic development of Tharu people is quintessential need of the hour. Harnessing of the resource in the interest of the Tharu is of prime importance. The paper is an attempt to study the socio-economic status of Tharu tribal in era of new India Vision 2022.
