Stubborn seeds are seeds that conform to the evolutionary pressures in the environment. These seeds are of a variety, such as Zea mays, Nelumbo nucifera, Phoenix dactylifera, Arabidopsis thaliana, amongst others, and are affected by moisture content, environmental temperatures, shedding time, fungal proliferation, and seed metabolism. This indicates that stubborn seeds don't necessary conform to non-orthodox to non-orthodox behavior. The seeds of cocoa beans and Casanea sativa, the chestnut, for examples, are easily shed, but are invasive to natural growth protocols. This means that stubborn seeds are not only characterized by shedding time, but also their ability to germinate, i.e. either within the fruit or outside. A good example of a lenient seed is Phaseolus vulgaris, or the common bean. The discussion that follows focusses on ‘What a stubborn seed is? ’with emphasis on studies; and a variety of examples.
