The extraction of a very large proportion of the oil and gas deposits of our planet may be partly to blame for the increase in the number and intensity of earthquakes and for some of other natural disasters recorded in the last few decades. This alarming possibility must be carefully studied in order to prevent even greater calamities in the years to come.
