Western liberal democracy, inspired by Newtonian science, encourages a profligate lifestyle and massive consumerism, resulting in a global environmental crisis that is threatening mankind with extinction. To ensure the welfare of future generations a reform of the system based on an ecologically holistic worldview is necessary.
