Apart from its immediately visible and perceptible unpleasant effects, pollution harms human health in a variety of ways by negatively affecting the environment and directly damaging the biological and sometimes the psychological constitution as well. Many legal provisions and mechanisms have been and are being adopted to address the menace but the rapid acceleration of global industrialisation is outpacing those remedial measures which remain insufficient, especially in most developing states.
