The massive economic growith in Asia as a whole tends to hide the disparities between its component states. The Least Developed Countries (LDCs) are falling further behind and their trade deficit with China is rising yearly. The massive foreign reserves of the leading Asian economies are also creating domestic inflation and could be profitably invested in the LDCs, helping close the gap and promote intra regional demand and trade. An Asian fund may be set up to further this strategy.
