The Himalayas separate the two largest states in Asia, China and India along a still disputed boundary line drawn by the British colonial administration. The world's highest mountains also cradle various smaller nations which India has traditionally seen as buffer states, in line with Lord Curzon's theory. In this era of growing Asian economic and strategic cooperation, India must revise this concept of the Himalayan borders. The need is for continental community building more than for protection of the Raj from invaders.
