The economic crisis of the western system

Abstract

Several studies have analysed the impact of the current crisis on the global economy and on industrial systems worldwide. They mostly attempt to find solutions for overcoming it without loss of power to the Western System led by the United States (US). As a new multipolar system emerges, after the US 's unipolar moment, this article highlights the need to examine the relationship between the geopolitical positions of world players. Taking into account the diverse strategies of the main actors (the US, the European Union, Russia, China and India), their respective cultural identities and ambitions can help define better ways of building social stability and finding new forms of international cooperation.
