This paper examines the current and upcoming partnership between India and Africa keeping in mind the relationship that has existed since ancient times. It describes India's foreign policy and its commitments to Africa; highlights the commercial and economic activities already in practice; surveys the Indian government's manifesto of recently announced programmes and discusses the way forward for strengthening the partnership.
