Are American interests behind the “Spontaneous” revolts in North Africa?

There are reasons to believe that the “Arab Spring” was brought about or at least manipulated by pro-American interest groups and agencies, like the earlier “coloured” revolutions that shook ex-Soviet and socialist states. They seem designed to bring the affected countries into a closer relationship with the US and its NATO allies by liberalising their economies and “ Westernising” their political systems. This article examines the involvement of American foundations and NGOs in promoting and funding the Arab revolutions in states not entirely under American globalist control.
