This article explores, under a Brazilian perspective, some tendencies and challenges that BRICS members (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) face. Economic, political and security themes form part of an amplified agenda. The work is based on primary sources—official documents generated in Brazil on the origins and transformations of the grouping. In the end, the article presents prospective scenarii about relationships between members and with other countries, blocs and regions.
