Colonialism, Neo-Colonialism and Beyond

Although classic colonialism has almost disappeared, it has been replaced by various forms of neo-colonialism in many regions of the world. This is manifest in the policies and actions of certain powerful countries intending to maintain or assert their control over the natural resources and governments of weaker states (in most of Africa, Latin America and some areas of the Asias–Pacific). Developing countries should cooperate to resist such pressures and bring about a peaceful reform of the international system, allowing for a fairer management of global wealth and the elimination of weapons of mass destruction.
