While keeping its democratic setup alive, India has shed traditional foreign policy objectives and adopted policy choices reflecting the changing patterns of international politics. The aim is to boost holistic development and make the country one of the leading though benign powers of the world. Most significantly, India emphasises a pragmatic way to interconnectedness and interdependency to reach set targets. After “Manmohanism”, India’s “Modified” foreign policy musters a different rhetoric, intended to attract global interest and cooperation. This paper discuses India’s current main foreign policy interests.
