Since the beginning of human civilisation, man has imposed his needs and demands on the environment and thus an element of concern has always existed. Today however the fast depletion of natural resources has resulted not only in the degradation of the environment but in a scarcity and growing conflict over resources within and between states. This has led to a growing concern for environmental security throughout the world. This paper lays out environmental issues especially in the context of India and Bangladesh.
