This article explains the concept of securitisation as applied to the critical issue of climate change, whose multiple and often unpredictable implications affect all aspects of economic, political and social life, more so in a developing country like India where the environment is fragile and under heavy stress. Security is no longer regarded as a solely military or law and order concern and embraces all dimensions of a nation's welfare as well as planetary life.
