This article shows how innovations in biotechnology and their impact on international relations could open new channels for eliminating deprivation, hunger and poverty across the globe. This would help build new relationships and bridge the distance between the North and the South. The author reviews various strategies and innovative approaches to agriculture and land management devised to achieve food security for all of mankind in keeping with the guidelines of sustainable development, environmental safety and health protection reflecting the insights gained from “systems science”.
