India has retaliated against Pakistan for meddling in Kashmir and sponsoring terrorism in the region by the raising the Balochistan issue. The anti-India violence in Kashmir has been keenly instigated and supported by Pakistan. Responding to the Uri (2016) and Pulwama (2019) terror attacks, India retaliated strongly through military-like surgical land and air strikes in Pakistan and punished the perpetrators. Simultaneously, New Delhi has also adopted an “ignore and isolate” strategy and put diplomatic pressure against Islamabad in the region and beyond. Through the surgical strikes, air strikes and the Balochistan tactic, Prime Minister Modi has sent a strong message to the Pakistani establishment and military to change its Kashmir policy. Furthermore, India’s diplomatic pressure has choked Pakistan’s economy besides spreading political instability throughout the country. Today, Pakistan stands alone and frustrated with little external support while Modi ’s government continues to hold a hardline on Kashmir and Balochistan.
