The nexus between the Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) and terrorism poses the gravest threat to the international peace and security. A successful WMD terrorist attack could result in hundreds of thousands of casualties and produce far-reaching economic and political consequences that would severely affect all members of the international community. The author argues that the US Government particularly is quite serious and has given the highest priority to working with a broad range of international partners to develop effective measures, frame policies and launch initiatives to meet the global challenge of WMD terrorism.
