India as a nation endeavour to promptly with the obligations established by international law pertaining to human rights. The Indian Constitution particularly places a strong emphasis on the spirit of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). The core purpose of the Indian Constitution is to prioritise the needs of human beings at home and abroad and to advance and defend the greater common interest. This article argues that India needs to legally define, enact and apply a specific and comprehensive policy for refugees.
