Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) is slowly but surely steering research and scholarly publishing towards the future with enhanced tools for discovery and efficiency. It is worth mentioning, AI also raises ethical dilemmas that could undermine the integrity of research. This article discusses issues concerning AI bias, misuse, transparency, and author attribution if AI systems contribute to research papers. The human factors regarding the content generated by AI include a propensity for plagiarism, a lack of accountability, and finally the credibility of knowledge produced by machines. Misapplication of AI-driving results, such as fabricating data or hiding biases-can deeply harm the credibility of science. In response, it is suggested new safeguards such as mandatory declaration of AI usage, effective plagiarism detection procedures, research ethics training, and the establishment of global principles to assist in shaping ethical utilization of AI in research are implemented. The recommendations detailed in the article seek to maintain trust, accountability, and responsible AI use in academic settings.
