In recent years, the energy metering industry has slowly adopted electronic solutions to replace the century-old electromechanical technology. The advantages of electronic solutions are numerous. First, they bring the industry into the digital age, and enable the implementation of value-added services such as automatic meter reading (AMR) multi-tariff billing, maximum demand and power quality monitoring.
