Abstract

The present article addresses problems that may occur during rehabilitation process of the hydrogenerator units, mainly in the design of a new stator core and a new stator winding. The possibility of introducing new technical problems (that did not exist in the original design) during the generator modernization must be taken into account. Opposed to a new generator design case, many of the rehabilitation cases are based on already defined parameters, that cannot be altered and that vary from case to case: number of stator slots, inner and outer core diameter, air gap, foundations, brackets, frame etc.
