Abstract

Floods are of common occurrence in many parts of the world and whenever these occur, a trail of destruction is left behind. Though floods are said to be a natural phenomena, the loss of life and property can be reduced to a large extent if lessons are learnt of the previous instances and timely measures are taken to lessen their impact.
