11. Prospects for Renewable Energy Projects under CDM

The Clean Development Mechanism is one of the so-called flexible mechanisms of the Kyoto Protocol. These mechanisms are designed to make it easier and cheaper for industrialized countries to meet the Green House Gas (GHG) emission reduction targets agreed to under the protocol. This article analysis the prospects for renewable energy projects under CDM. The CDM will also enable developing countries to attract investments in clean energy technology and assist them on a sustainable development path.
