This paper presents the results of the experiment carried out at the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Dhaka on a 80 WP solar photovoltaic (PV) water pump. Performance of the water pump was evaluated on a bright sunshine day. The water discharge rate and system efficiency were estimated and presented. Preliminary results show that there is immense potential for solar PV submersible water pumping in the remote and rural areas of Bangladesh.
