44. Development of Dual Fuel Gasifier Working on Powder and Solid Dry Bio-Mass

The need of gasification of bio-mass is widely practiced in view of the depletion of fossil fuels. Commercially, gasifiers are made to function with powder and solid bio-mass separately. While the need of such a gasifier is obvious from common man point of view, an attempt is made for evaluation of technical aspects. The heat output is evaluated for powder and solid bio-mass. It is found that, the heat output is very large for solid biogasifier when compared to powder gasifier. The manufacturers claim that it is uneconomical to make a solid gasifier at a very small scale/domestic scale. The dual gasifier of present discussion works on powder as well as solid bio-mass to meet the low and large scale needs of the end user. The design modifications in solid gasifier to incorporate powder bio-mass are suggested.
