A numerical model based on saturated flow is developed to simulate the groundwater recharge with secondary effluent and to assess the impact of such recharge on groundwater quality. A particular means is adopted to deal with the varying water table. The operator-splitting techniques are applied to the reactive transport model while an implicit upwind finite difference scheme is developed to solve the convection-dispersion equations. The practical operations for the demonstration project are drawn up with the numerical results.
