Abstract

Results of a survey of lateral channel shift from 54 control sections of different rivers that flow across various landscapes of Udmurtia are presented and discussed. The intensity of bank downcutting is controlled by a number of natural factors. Human economic activity in the drainage basin also exerts an important influence on the pattern of channel migration.
