Profuse leakage of hydrogen was observed in one of the 210 MW (THW type) turbogenerators at site, after operation of about 150,000 hours, resulting in heavy bubbling in the Gas Trap connected to the water headers of DM primary water-cooling system of stator windings. Forced shutdown had to be resorted to, for resolving the problem of hydrogen leakage from stator casing into the stator windings.
