Co-firing: Learning from over a decade of dutch experience in a growing field

Coal-fired power plant owners and operators interested in biomass co-firing could do worse than look to the Netherlands, where there is over a decade of experience. In 2005 co-firing of more than 10wt% of biomass secondary fuel was commonplace at Dutch coal-fired power plants, while the percentage will need to be doubled over the next three years if Dutch coal plant owners are to meet their obligations.
